I am an American who lives in the UK. I moved here 4 yrs ago, but had spent the previous year in and out of England. I am married to an English man I will call “S” and we have a 2 yr old son I will call “T” and a 13 yr old step daughter I will call “K”. I am a stay at home mom who does a shift behind the bar of a local club 1 night a week. We also have a cat that officially belongs to K, or so she thinks. I hate this cat. I think its retarded or something. I have never hated an animal before, and never thought I would, but this creature does my head in. Especially when it decides to bring a live mouse into the house and we have to scramble to catch it. That act alone is enough to make me hate anyone or anything. Just what I need, field mouse peeing and crapping on the floor in shear terror (who could blame it) and a 2 yr old crawling around. Great!
I have recently gotten back into photography a bit. I got a lovely camera for my 40th birthday. Yes, that is right, I said 40. No one believes me. They say I look to young to be 40. But I feel it. Especially having a toddler. I am blessed to have my child. He is my world, but at my age its trying.
We are planning on moving back to the US and are in process. Its an exciting and terrifying thought. The economy back home scares the life out of me. The unknown is very scary, but I can’t stomach the thought of staying here. I need to go home. I need to feel secure again and safe. I need to be able to take control of my life, which I can not do here. I also need to get to a happier place in me which I have lost and must find again. That will only happen when I find some way to have my sense of self restored.
Hello, I was unable to post on city-data for some reason, anyway as a local in TC (grew up, didnt like it, moved around found out that its not bad here moved back) I can tell you you’ll find an active UK community here, mostly leftovers from a large BNFL contract & a few employed at the national laboratory (PNNL) in Richland. You might want to look at used housing in south/west kennewick, best value for $$.
Good to know. Thanks for the info. Cheers.
